The Future of Film Incubator Showcase reception was held at the Epic Games London Innovation Lab on January 31, 2023. This reception was held to launch the last three projects of the first Future of Film Incubator. There were over 300 applicants. These three projects, “SAVE POST” by Ben Mole and “MOON MAMA” by Zinha, are examples of the innovation and diversity that resulted from the eight-month “format neutral” incubation program.
“SAVE POINT” tells the story of a scientist-fiction adventure about a girl who uses her special skills to save her father from a faraway planet. MOON MAMA is an immersive experience that combines digital storytelling and digital storytelling. It features the Afro-deity Moon Mama who visits Earth to save humanity by dancing. “RIGHT CLICK STATEMENT” is a new animation studio which aims to share stories with the growing Web3 community.
Artists behind the projects were able to share their vision with financiers and executives from all sectors of the screen industry. The Epic Games Innovation Stage was also available for guests to see the most recent virtual production technology.
The Future of Film incubator is a program that supports filmmakers and creators working in the screen industry. It is designed to help them bring their original stories to all screens. The incubator offers expert mentorship and sessions on worldbuilding, virtual creation, real-time tools, Web3 audiences, community building, and sessions on worldbuilding. Screen Engine/ASI and Publikum also supported the audience research of participant projects.
Alex Stolz founded Future of Film in 2017 to celebrate innovation in filmmaking. It has evolved into a global community of creators, industry leaders and hosts events like the Future of Film Summit. Founding partners include Epic Games, Unreal Engine and Nvidia, Dell Technologies and Garden Studios.
The first Future of Film Incubator Showcase reception was a great success. It showcased the many innovative projects that were created by the program. These projects and their creators are the future of storytelling and film in this age of technology.
