The best thing about NFT is the diversity of artists who embrace this technology and have found support and community.

In line with our mission to empower creators, Next up is our monthly franchise that showcases rising artists. While the NFT industry has seen a lot of changes over the years, there is one constant: Web3 continues to be home to a wealth of creative talent. We’ve compiled a list with five rising talents that have made significant contributions to Web3 in our February edition.

Aaron Huey, a National Geographic photographer and explorer, is an all-around creative who recently made waves in Web3. His accomplishments include walking across America in 2000, raising $1.36million via his global art project “We The People”, and contributing more then 30 stories (including many covers stories) to Nat Geo over the years. While Huey was a key part of notable NFT initiatives like Nat Geo’s “GM: Morning Around the World”, he is primarily focused on creating art and media experiments that magnify important social movements.

Lucrece, a Norwegian-born Vietnamese visual artist who is based in the U.S. Lucrece is a Norwegian-born Vietnamese visual artist based in the U.S. Lucrece’s work is often about identity themes. As a second-generation Asian immigrant, Lucrece is often considered “too Asian” for Westerners. Lucrece attempts to capture the unique personalities he has encountered over the years.

Photon Tide

Photon Tide, also known as Pho, is a multi-media artist and musician best known for his experimental, psychedelic art style. His dream-inspired, trippy works, which aim to explore the human mind, often feel like they are meant to elicit powerful emotion. They encourage viewers to not fear what is inside them but to embrace it. Pho’s piece “The Spiral”, which he exhibited at NFT.NYC, Art Basel Miami and Art Basel Miami, was his most successful sale to date. His art is now reaching a wider audience through Web3.

POST WOOK

Natasha Chomko is a digital artist based in Los Angeles who creates surreal landscape collage art using visionary and psychedelic components. She combines snippets from different landscapes around the world to show how interconnected we are all. Her pieces can be enjoyed by both seasoned psychonauts as well as average consumers. Chomko is a firm believer in digital art’s future through decentralization. Her fascination with copyrights and open-sourced content has made her an important voice in Web3, emphasizing the importance of accessibility in bridging the gap between technology and art.

Willard

Willard is an intriguing contemporary artist who seeks out the poetic depth of everyday things. He is a relatively new entrant to the NFT space. He first started his career minting on Fxhash in fall 2022, before moving his unique offerings onto OpenSea/SuperRare a few months later. Willard has been cosigned by many prominent creators and collectors in Web3, including Chris Ostoich, Transient Labs COO. His art is based on everyday scenes and objects but evokes indescribable emotions such as joy and sonder.
