New Orleans-based Web3 company The Niuex Society has launched Mardi Gras themed NFTs. These holders will enjoy special privileges. Niuex has created a way to use NFTs to give special access to the carnival-themed event, which will take place on February 21. You can get a NFT pass for $160 that grants you access to food and beverages.
The pass also allows access to exclusive performances and private parties as well as restrooms along the parade route. The latter has been ridiculed online because some people can’t believe they needing it to use the restrooms. But you can’t underestimate the importance to find a decent toilet in a crowd.
The Mardi-Gras-themed NFTs include a collection of 5,000 AI generated digital collectibles. These NFTs will soon be available for sale.
Tim Williamson, cofounder and CEO of Nieux Society, stated that “Nieux Society members utilized this cutting-edge technology for Mardi Gras. While using NFT technology to provide holders with exclusive access, benefits and an ongoing invitation, we are on a journey to help New Orleans realize her creative potential.”

NieuxCo Mardi Gras-themed NFTs are nothing new
NFTs are increasingly being used as access passes because of their unique characteristics. A New York restaurant tried to use them last August for reservations but faced the same backlash as the Nieux Society for its Mardi Gras bathroom pass. Some even went so far as to call them grifters selling unlicensed securities.
This use case seems to be a sure thing. NFT passes allow for easy tracking and proof of ownership. There are many businesses that have already made use of them, including the Flyfish Club. Holders of NFTs have access to high-end seafood restaurants. They are however not cheap at 2.7ETH.
